Scientific Name: Chinchilla Lanigera

General Information: Historically, Chinchillas lived in an area that included parts of Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, and Chile, but today, colonies in the wild are known only in Chile.

The average lifespan is 15 – 20 years.  Adult size is approximately 8″ – 12″ pls the tail which can be double the lenth of the body!

Diet:  Chinchillas eat a pelleted diet supplemented with hay.  We also offer herbivore treats.  All of which are carried in store and online!

Permit:  No permit is needed
